THE NORTH SEA BA-COLLECTION This was the final project Tyra made at Corydon College for her BA(hons) Fashion Business with Pattern Cutting and Development. The theme for this creative project was The North Sea that gave the lingerie collection a rough beauty and elegance. The colours for the collection were sourced from the North Sea and the oyster shell that is associated with women's sexuality. The creative project itself celebrates femininity and the luxury of being a woman. It consisted of a collection of sensual lingerie made to create the image of a strong, modern woman who enjoys her sexuality and is very confident in her self. Photographed by Kirill Kozlov

SUB ROSA For the final HND project Tyra made a Collection of Lingerie called 'Sub Rosa'. The inspiration was mainly sourced form the Art Nouveau period with strong colours and feminine lines. The rose is also strongly associated with romance and therefore a very appropriate inspiration. The translation for sub Rosa from Latin is 'under the rose' and a reference to 'keep in secret', or something 'hidden' which lingerie usually is. Photographed by Jenni Kauppinen

A VISIT TO THE CASTLE Tyra designed and made a range of underwear inspired by four different time periods. The first one is a 1750's Rococo outfit with a linen chemise, woollen corset and side panniers. The second outfit is a 1860's Victorian camisole and open crotch pantalettes or drawers, corset and metal crinoline. The third outfit is from the 1890's with a combination, corset and bustle. The last outfit is a 1920's silk slip with a girdle and suspenders. Photographed by Rainer Frommer.

FREELANCE CORSET DESIGNER FOR OMRANI DESIGN Tyra created a corset range for women's wear designer Behdad Omrani in Copenhagen. She worked on a small collection that was sold over the internet.

LONDON METROPOLITAN UNIVERSITY Images from different projects during tyra's studies at City and Islington College. The waistcoat is inspired by the exhibition Eyes, Lies and Illusions at the Hayward Gallery. The golf project was a part of the London Golf show at EXEL where it was shown as part of the golf show fashion catwalk. Identikit was a project combining an 18th century corset to ones own identity. It was shown at the Alternative Fashion week in London 2006.

FITNES LIGHT OPERA
The opera serves as a reminder that people have the right to be loved and accepted just as they are, and that the ongoing striving for perfection first objectifies the individual, who then objectifies everyone else. Fitness is a satirical story not lacking in carnal elements and burlesque. It nevertheless gives a true and genuine picture of the longing for love and insecurity of the leading character. The musical style was inspired by the operas of Jean-Philippe Rameau with which I am considerably familiar and which I greatly love. This is the largest production by Ooppera Skaala so far, and for Tyra as well. Composer: Kirmo Lintinen Libretto: Veli-Pekka Hänninen Director: Janne Lehmusvuo

THE MANSON FAMILY The story is based on true events about Charles Manson and his followers. About the the nightmare caused by the brutal murders performed in August 1969, were pregnant Sharon Tate, the wife of Roman Polanski, was stabbed to death. The opera explores the tragedy and its after math with music, theatre and movement. Tyra Designed the Costumes for this opera using different printing techniques to ensure a very intimidating presence of Charlie Manson. The opera was performed at Korjaamo Culture Factory – A Powerhouse of Ideas in Helsinki by the opera organization Ooppera Skaala Composer and Libretto: JOHN MORAN Director and Sets: JANNE LEHMUSVUO Choreography: THOMAS FREUNDLICH

THE PENAL COLONY The Penal Colony is a story about the last use of an elaborate torture and execution device that carves the sentence of the man on his skin in a script before letting him die, all in the course of six hours. As the plot unfolds, the narrator learns more and more about the machine, including its origin, and original justification. Tyra designed the costumes and props. The opera was made by the opera organization Ooppera Skaala, that is known for its contemporary productions in Finland. Composer: PHILIP GLASS Libretto based on a short srory by FRANZ KAFKA: RUDOLF WURLITZER Translation of the Libretto: TAINA SEITOVIRTA Director: JANNE LEHMUSVUO

ENFANTS The Opera was based on Jean Cocteau's book 'les Enfants Terribles' (the horrible children), It concerns two sibilings, Elizabeth and Paul, who isolate themselves from the world as they grow up; this isolation is shattered by the stresses of their adolescence. This was tyra's first opera production where she designed the costumes and assisted in design and production of the sets. She managed a production team of seamstresses and sets assistants at the Aleksander Theatre in Helsinki by the opera organization Ooppera Skaala. Composer: PHILIP GLASS Libretto: PHILIP GLASS/SUSAN MARSHALL Director: JANNE LEHMUSVUO

AS YOU LIKE IT In William Shakespeares time all roles were played by men, but like he wanted to play with the gender rolls and swap then, so did the Swedish director Ronny Danielsson at the theatre Teater.Nu, but even more foundamently. Tyra did her internship making corsets for the leading characters Rosalind and Celia who were played Daniel Hagman and Joachim Bergstrom. These corsets needed to be constructed to give the men a feminine character and sihouette.
